Just got this as an Early Reviewer (on a different site, ahem). I’m not sure if this was intentional, but the book was not the whole book, it only had 15 of the 52 outdoor activities to do with your kids. I can’t say I was too excited about the ones that were included. My kids are 4 and 1, and we have managed to keep them, in large part, away from the TV, and so they already love to play outside. Yesterday it was rainy most of the day, so we put on the rainboots and headed out for some good puddle stomping. The activities that were included weren’t anything really beyond what we would already do, but the book does contain some valuable teaching points, like observing why female birds are dull-colored while the males are bright. One activity we will have to try though is building our own bird nest: it’s harder than it looks!
In keeping with my current bike obsession, I’m going to try to get to the library to pick up How to Live Well Without Owning a Car by Chris Balish to read next.
