The Washington Post’s Beer Madness competition returns for a second year. They’ve tweaked the format slightly this year, lumping 8 lagers into one bracket, ales into another, specialty and fruit into another, and dark beers into the last. This is an improvement over last year’s format, which pitted Budweiser against Abita Purple Haze. This year’s format ensures that similar beers are matched up until the Final Four, giving less likelihood of a Michelob beating Flying Dog (but not ruling it out entirely).
As with last year, once they reach the Final Four, I will do my own taste test. Yum!
