After Dark by Haruki Murakami
My review
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It should be well known by now that I am a big Haruki Marukami fan. But this one didn’t quite captivate and enthrall me the way his other books have. It is basically the story of how people’s lives intersect in the night, but the connections were somewhat fleeting, particularly that of the businessman who, to me, seemed to be the key to it all. Even with those shortcomings, it’s still a beautifully written book that makes you ponder the supernatural in ways you hadn’t thought of before.
Next up is the New Kidspace Idea Book by Wendy Jordan. The kids are eventually going to have to share a relatively small room together, so I picked this one up to get some ideas about space management and decor. It’s mostly pictures, so it should be a quick one to tide me over till one of my books on hold comes in.
