Smuttynose Hanami Ale

Having this one for the occasion of the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC this week.
Poured a coppery color with a spotty head which left a nice lacing on the glass. Not much in the aroma, frankly.
The flavor is definitely much better balanced than I expected. There is a nice tart cherry flavor, but it’s not overwhelming, it just feels like it’s supposed to be there in the beer. Just a slight bit of malty sweetness rounds out the flavors.
I didn’t have high expectations for this one, I was just hoping it would be better than the last cherry beer I had, and it was, but it wasn’t anything special really either.
