The Brief History of the Dead: A novel by Kevin Brockmeier
My review
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was definitely an interesting book. I finished it on Friday, and spent the weekend trying to figure out what I would say about it in this review. And yet I never really came up with anything great. The book is an intriguing take on life and afterlife, physical and metaphysical. It takes on answers to life’s big questions, but leaves them open all the way to the end. It might bug some folks, but I found it to be quite fascinating. Definitely a good read.
I’m going to finish up the off-and-on Beer Companion before starting on my next book. I’ve got a couple that should be coming in to the library soon, along with a few that my cousin Bill gave me during our visit up to Baltimore last month, so it’s just a matter of picking one out.
