The “Blizzard” of 2007

I’m at home right now after we got about 4-5 inches of snow. The only reason I’m here is that Verizon was supposed to come install FIOS (cancelled without even calling me, the bastards) and Evan had a doctor’s appointment (their office was closed until 10:30am, after I plowed the damn driveway and pushed the car down the street to a plowed area).
I’ll might head in to work later, but at this point, it’s kind of pointless. The plows haven’t even come close to our street yet, and they are doing a shitty ass job of even plowing the supposedly “main” streets. The only reason I made it out of our neighborhood is that some random guy with a truck and a plow came through and plowed the side street up to the main route out of our neighborhood. We’ll probably have to get out again later to get Evan checked out (that cough hasn’t gotten any better since the weekend), but otherwise, it’s probably best to just stay at home today.
What do you think are the odds of our trash getting picked up today?

Fresh snow on the yard.

The car, after I dug it out and we drove fruitlessly to the doctor.

This guy had the right idea. I have no idea why someone in Northern Virginia has an ATV, but that’s definitely the way to travel today.
