2006 in Review

It’s been a big year for the D’s.
The Chicago D’s officially became KC D’s when they moved into their new house. We had a family reunion of sorts when my cousin Bill got married earlier this year. Mike also continued his domination of the beach volleyball circuit.
Ellie started school this year. She’s getting to be a big girl, and turned 3 in August. She also got a fish tank in her room, and the fish have survived a whole year with her!
Evan was born. And he’s growing fast too.
Brian started playing baseball again. He also read 30 books for the 12 Books Project, and drank 30 beers for the new 12 Beers Project (started in June! Not bad). He watched as hundreds of people tried curling for the first time right after the Olympics, only to take this season off due to the birth of Evan. He even surprised Lisa with a new over-the-range microwave for her birthday.
We all enjoyed Opening Day, and Closing Day with the Nationals, especially Frank Robinson’s last game. We had a vacation to Chicago in July which was a nice change from our usual “vacation” to Michigan. We mulched our entire backyard after getting sick of looking at it. We also took a trip to Huntsville, Alabama for Baba Ratkowski’s Space Camp experience.
Another great year for all of us here. We hope yours was as happy, and here’s to 2007!
