Assessment victory!

The fight against the county assessors has been won! Back in March, we received our assessment. I then emailed back and forth with them trying to get them to see the light, that there was a gross overvaluation, even for this hot market, of our cozy home. They basically ignored my points, forcing us to file a formal appeal.
Today, we received a letter from the county saying that they had reconsidered the assessment based on the evidence we provided, and instead of the house being assessed at $403,820, they cut it down to $374,400. That’s actually even less than I figured it would be, but we’ll take it!
Now, wouldn’t it have just been easier for them to admit they were wrong than have to have us officially appeal and make them do all the work all over again? No matter, we won!
