File under "Things you never wanted to know and never thought you would hear Brian say": Thank goodness she finally pooped!
Last Wednesday was the last time Ellie had a poopy diaper. I know, too much information. It became slightly worrisome over the weekend when she had a slight fever to go with it, but she was pretty much fine other than that, so we figured it was probably because she was still getting used to the rice cereal.
Well, last night, she finally pooped. And boy, did she ever! You can be warned over and over by other parents ("Yeah, our kid did that for a while too. When it finally comes out, there will be a lot of poop!"), but it will never prepare you for the huge amount of poop that awaits you. Unfortunately (or luckily) for you, Lisa didn't let me take a picture, so you will just have to take my word for it. It took 15 wipes and a bath to get her clean. Hopefully, she will be back to her regular self for a while.
Finally got the software reinstalled in order to edit the videos we took of Ellie eating rice for the first time, so here they are...
This is a short version, but should work for pretty much anyone trying to view it.
This is the long version, but you may not be able to view it without the latest version of Windows Media Player.
Enjoy! And let me know if the videos (especially the second one) work for you.
Our little girl is growing up so fast! Ellie has started eating solid foods, namely, rice cereal. And she loves it! These pictures are mainly from the first time she tried it, but lately, she has been literally devouring the stuff. She is even grabbing the spoon and trying to feed herself!
Mommy feeding Ellie.
Daddy feeding Ellie.
Ellie making a mess, of course. It's been tough for her to figure out how to eat with a different mechanism than sucking, so her tongue keeps trying to suck, which of course ends up pushing the rice back out of her mouth. She is getting better though, and now she knows not to stick her tongue out and just open her mouth wide.
A closeup of the mess.
Finally got around to getting the Christmas pictures together. There's too much to post here, so they got their own page!
