Three words: Love. This. CD.

Franz Ferdinand

I was originally thinking that this CD would probably get the lowest rating out of the five I am reviewing this week. But it's grown on me while listening to it a couple more times.

Black Eyed Peas – Elephunk

This is the first album from the Black Eyed Peas that I've owned, so I can't speak to the addition of Fergie to the lineup. I can say it's a nice hip-hop/dance CD that I enjoy.
Outkast – Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

The latest double album from Outkast is a lot of filler, but a lot of good music too.

Maroon 5 – Songs About Jane

Life with Jane must have been pretty interesting, if in fact these are all "Songs About Jane". She certainly was the inspiration for some pretty good songs.

A review a day for a week?
As mentioned before, I'm a big fan of the Pepsi/iTunes promotion. As a result of the free songs I downloaded thanks to the cap codes, I even went out and bought, or received as a gift, five albums by the artists I liked the most. So, I'm going to try to post a review each day of one of these albums. Check back later today for my Maroon 5 review.
Catharsis
This past weekend, I went through the geek cleansing ritual of recycling my old computers. Yep, that's right, all of them. The old PPro 180 my dad gave me as a hand me down from his work, my AMD K6-2 350 which I just recently retired, and a couple of motherboards, parts, and the ancient Packard Bell 14 inch monitor that until a couple of years ago made me eyes hurt from looking at it for too long. It actually feels pretty good to only have 2 computers (my main computer and my wife's laptop, which is mainly used just for Quicken). And there's a lot more room in that basement closet now for all our other junk!

Bad restaurant
Lisa's friend Suzy was in Annapolis this weekend to, no kidding, meet her friends from MarthaStewart.com. That's a whole other story. The main thing I want to do is warn anyone off Ego Alley, the restaurant where we went to dinner. We figured that we should eat early, since it seemed that there were a lot of prom night kids out and about, so we stopped in to Ego Alley, which had been suggested to us by someone as a relatively kid-friendly place to go to eat. So we went in around 5pm. I immediately noticed that there were people smoking at the bar, and mentioned this to my wife. She hadn't noticed, as the ventilation was pretty decent for such a small place. So we picked out a table in the back near the fish tank so Ellie could watch the fish. Placed our drink order (the only redeeming quality, they had John Courage on tap, a beer I enjoyed whilst in London. As it turns out, a lot of places in Annapolis have it), figuring the smoke wasn't bad enough to make us leave. We should have left.
